NAU Axe\/ess\u00a0 is a new course materials provisioning program for all students enrolled at NAU’s Flagstaff or Online campuses in undergraduate coursework.<\/p>\n
NAU Axe\/ess prioritizes digital content and charges the student account a flat rate of $270 for the Fall or Spring semester and $95 for the summer term for all<\/span> required course materials.<\/p>\n By the first day of class, participating students can easily access provided course materials by logging onto their NAU Canvas account.<\/p>\n Access to required digital and physical course materials on the first day of class through NAU Canvas improves student success and increases the likelihood of course completion.<\/p>\n Students are better prepared to learn\u00a0 and instruction can start right away.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n Fixed price per semester, regardless of the retail cost of materials.<\/p>\n Financial Aid may be applied directly to the student account to remove the need for separate payments.<\/p>\n \u00a0Opt-out model allows students flexibility if the program does not make financial sense for any given semester.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n Removes the need for students to secure course materials from different sources while worrying about finding the correct editions\/versions.<\/p>\n Prioritizes digital materials and consolidates access via NAU Canvas for ease of use and convenience.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n NAU Axe\/ess is the university’s course materials program designed to ensure students are prepared for the first day of class with access to their required course materials.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n \n Once a student registers for courses, required course materials are identified based on faculty adoptions.<\/p>\n Digital materials are delivered directly in Canvas, where students can access their online materials and utilize tools such as highlighting, note-taking, and search features.<\/p>\n Physical materials are prepared by the campus store for in-store pick up and\/or shipping directly to the student, depending on selected options.<\/p>\n Physical materials can be kept at the end of the term .<\/p>\n Follett, NAU’s campus store partner, works to coordinate sourcing and delivery of required materials so students receive the correct adopted materials in the correct format by the first day of class.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n \n All NAU undergraduate students enrolled at the Flagstaff Campus or through NAU Online are automatically enrolled in NAU Axe\/ess by default.<\/p>\n Students who do not wish to participate may opt out by the published deadline (generally the Last Day to Drop Courses without a “W”) each term with no penalty. Students who opt out are responsible for securing their required materials independently from the NAU Bookstore or another source.<\/p>\n Students may opt-out through a link to a Follett-managed registration site that will be sent to their official NAU email prior to the start of the semester. This opt-out link will also be available in their NAU Canvas account and may also be used to opt back in to the program prior to the deadline.<\/p>\n Students must take action to opt out each term prior to the deadline to have the charge removed from their account.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n \n Opting out of NAU Axe\/ess removes automatic access to ALL mandatory course materials and cannot be selected on a class-by-class basis.<\/p>\n If you choose to opt out of NAU Axe\/ess, you are responsible for purchasing the required materials on your own from the NAU Bookstore, direct from the publisher, or from an alternate source.<\/p>\n Students who opt out of the program will be responsible for linking subscriptions to their Canvas account for any materials provisioned digitally through NAU’s Canvas LMS (such as McGraw Hill, Cengage, Pearson, etc.) for homework or tests\/quizzes.<\/p>\n It is important to note that all students will have access to materials through the drop\/add deadline; however, students who opt out will lose access after the opt-out date and will need to procure the required courseware independently.
