Lumberjack Rec Camp

Looking for summer activities for your kids? Look no further! Our camp educates and entertains children entering Kindergarten through eighth grade for ten weeks in the summer. We provide a fun and friendly environment where your children can take part in safe, high-quality activities led by well-trained and knowledgeable staff across the NAU campus. Our enthusiastic camp leaders create engaging and non-traditional program opportunities that are sure to enhance your children’s summer, and are all grade and age-appropriate. Since we are a college campus, we can provide niche programming with access to academic departments, premiere athletic facilities, and all other campus resources.

Registration

Cost and payment information

All NAU summer camp customers will be assessed a one-time, non-refundable registration fee. For single campers, this cost will be $65, and for families with 2+ campers, they will pay $65 for each child up front, but will receive a credit towards their first week of camp for any amount paid over $130. This one-time charge is in addition to weekly camp tuition.

Weekly camp costs:

  • NAU affiliates: $300 per camper per week
    • On the registration form, NAU affiliates will verify their status by entering their NAU ID. All IDs will be cross referenced to validate NAU status. If an NAU ID is ever abused, the individuals may be subject to penalty.
  • Community members: $350 per camper week

Billing information:

Here’s what you need to know about camp payments through ProCare:

  • Payments are due the Monday before each camp week at 11:59pm.
    • Example: Payment for the week of June 8 is due June 1.
  • You may pay all at once or week by week. You can choose whatever works best for your family (just be sure to pay on time!).
    • If paying in advance, please plan accordingly, as no refunds will be issued.
    • You can save a card on file for quick and easy payments.
  • Late payments: If payment is not received on time, your camper will be removed from that week and placed on a waitlist.
  • Cancellations: Must be made at least one week prior to the start of the camp week to avoid a late cancellation fee.
    • This cancellation fee is 50% of the weekly cost of camp.
    • Once paid, no refunds will be issued regardless of when you canceled.

May 25 is an NAU-observed holiday. For this reason, camp will be in session for 4 days that week. The cost of the camp week will be prorated to subtract one day.

Registration Waivers:

Download your registration waivers for your camper. All waivers must be filled out and uploaded to your campers account prior to their first day of camp.

Note:

  • No child will be accepted into camp without their waivers uploaded
  • One form must be completed and uploaded per child
  • No forms will be accepted in person or via email – only via ProCare

FAQ

Below are some common questions to help you out with deciding on our camp!

Camp drop-off and pick-up will be near the front entrance of the HLC building in the MAC Gym (Multi-Activity Center) at the corner of Franklin and S. San Francisco Street. Summer camp counselors will be waiting outdoors for you to sign your child in/out via our iPad system. We ask that you pull into the loading zone at an angle to allow for more cars during this busy time. Please do not park along the red curves, in medical parking, or handicapped parking, as this may result in a fine from NAU Parking. You must know your ProCare PIN in order to pick up your child.

Drop off is from 7:30-9:30 AM and pick up is from 4-6 PM. Late drop offs and early pick ups can be arranged with communication.

This year, Lumberjack Rec Camp will use Procare for all billing, scheduling, communication and record keeping needs. Once your camper(s) has been accepted into camp, you will receive an email asking you to activate your Procare account. If you enroll your child again, for another week of camp, you will not need to request another Procare account, as yours will stay active for the entirety of summer.

On our registration form, you can indicate which weeks you would like your child to attend (if availability permits it). If you choose to sign your camper(s) up for more weeks at a later date, please fill the registration form out again, but select “yes” to the question asking if you already have a Procare account. You must always submit one form per camper.

At this moment, NAU Lumberjack Rec Camp is only able to accommodate to full weeks. Although you may take your camper out of camp for a day, you will not receive this at a pro-rated cost.

If your child does not know how to swim, or does not pass the swim test, they will be required to wear a lifejacket that is provided.

Ensure your child wears comfortable, loose fitting clothes to camp each day. Closed-toed shoes are required, and absolutely no flip-flops. Your child will need to bring a swim suit and towel for the aquatics portion of camp. On field-trip days all campers are required to wear their camp t-shirt.

Pack a small snack for the morning and afternoon along with a lunch each day for your child. We cannot provide food, refrigeration, or microwave, so please pack all food in an insulated lunch box and mark everything you bring with your child’s name. Absolutely no sharing of food is permitted among campers.

Make sure your child has a water bottle that they will be able to refill throughout the day and a bottle of sunscreen. It is highly recommended that campers come with sunscreen applied prior to camp! We suggest every child have a small backpack to keep all belongings together.

We keep a lost and found bin by the doors every morning and afternoon during pick-up and drop-off. Please be sure to claim belongings quickly as the bin tends to fill up fast. Write your child’s name on all of their belongings prior to attending camp to prevent items from being left unclaimed.

Counselors are not permitted nor certified to administer medication for campers. Please give your child any and all medication prior to arriving at camp.

Campers may bring cell phones as long as they are kept in their bags at all times and do not cause distraction during the day. Staff is permitted to confiscate any electronic device deemed a distraction to planned activities. All emergencies can be communicated directly to the Camp Coordinator (928-523-7687), to the Rec Center Front Desk (928-523-1733) or Rec Administrative Staff (928-523-1585). Campus Rec is also not responsible for any lost, broken, or stolen items.
