The following offices are charged with addressing reports using formal or informal processes. Each office handles specific types of matters depending on the facts of the report. Please read the descriptions below to determine whether you would like to file a report with any of the following offices. If you are unsure, please submit your concern using the Campus Inclusion Team (CIT) Reporting Form<\/a> and we will direct you to the most relevant office. You can also email Campus Inclusion Team (CIT)<\/a> if you have questions or need support but do not have anything to report.<\/p>\n\n The Dean of Students’ Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities<\/a> (SR&R) handles concerns involving students and student conduct. SR&R supports the educational mission of NAU by upholding the standards of conduct for the university community. SR&R provides educational opportunities for students that may have violated university policy and supports NAU community members that may need assistance addressing student behavior.<\/p>\n Report an incident or a concern about a student.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n The Equity and Access Office<\/a> oversees the NAU Nondiscrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy<\/a>. EAO addresses formal and informal complaints of discrimination on the basis of protected categories including: race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, or genetic information. The office also handles requests for religious accommodation.<\/p>\n Employees, students, or members of the public who wish to report discrimination in any university program, service or activity<\/a> may contact the Equity and Access Office.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n The NAU Police Department<\/a> understands the destructive and hurtful nature of hate crimes and other incidents on campus and is committed to prevention and thorough investigation of any and all crimes. In Arizona, a hate crime occurs when someone commits a violation of law and there is evidence that the crime was committed out of malice because of the victim’s identity in a group. Arizona law defines those groups as race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, or disability. Not all discrimination-related incidents rise to the level of a crime and might be handled by another department on campus, but if you feel you have been a victim of a hate or discrimination-related crime or feel you have witnessed such a crime, please call 911 immediately. If you’re not sure if the incident you’ve experienced or witnessed is a crime, we encourage you to call and speak to an officer.<\/p>\n Submit an anonymous crime report. <\/a><\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n The ORSM addresses reports related to sex\/gender-based discrimination or harassment, including sexual assault and other forms of sexual misconduct. Depending on the situation, formal and informal resolution options exist. To report an issue, please submit the sex\/gender-based incident form. Students, faculty and staff members, affiliates and visitors may make reports to the ORSM.
