Frequently Asked Questions
Who is required to complete the courses? Accordion Closed
All new NAU students are required to complete the Everfi courses. This includes students enrolled on the Flagstaff campus, at statewide locations and online. New graduate students are not required to complete these courses.
Why do I have to complete these courses? Accordion Closed
The content in these educational courses is designed to help create a healthy and safe physical and virtual learning environment for all NAU students. The AlcoholEdu course will provide you with information that is important for you to know about alcohol and other drugs, whether or not you engage in substance use. The Sexual Assault Prevention course helps NAU meet federal requirements of the Sexual Violence Elimination (SaVE) Act to provide prevention education to all NAU students about healthy relationships and sexual violence prevention.
Why haven’t I received the Everfi email yet? Accordion Closed
You will receive the initial Everfi email shortly after the spring 2021 semester begins. Weekly email reminders will also be sent. If you are a new undergraduate student and you have not received any Everfi emails by the end of January, check your spam folder. If you don’t see these emails there please contact the Health Promotion office at healthpromotion@nau.edu.
What is the due date? Accordion Closed
The exact due date may not the same for everyone, because it depends on when you receive initial Everfi email. The due date is 30 days from when you receive the first email from Everfi to access the required courses. You will be able to see your due dates for each course when you log into the Everfi training website.
What happens if I do not complete the courses by the due date? Accordion Closed
You will be charged a $50 program fee.
Can I complete the courses before the semester starts? Accordion Closed
No. The courses will not be available until shortly after the beginning of the semester.
How do I access the courses? Accordion Closed
In the Everfi emails you receive (both the initial email and all subsequent reminder emails), you will be prompted to log into the Everfi training site, which you will do using your NAU ID and password. Both of the required courses will be accessible via the learner dashboard on the Everfi training website.
How long does it take to complete the courses? Accordion Closed
Approximately 3 hours total to complete both courses. You do not have to complete both courses in one sitting. Your progress will be saved as you go if you want to complete them over the course of a few days or whatever pace works for you.
Who do I contact for help with technical issues? Accordion Closed
If you are having trouble logging in, contact NAU ITS. If you are having technical difficulties once you have logged in to the Everfi platform, help is available via Everfi’s Technical Support website. You can also access Everfi’s technical support by selecting “help” on the “tools” drop down menu located in the top right-hand corner of your learner dashboard.
Do students need to send proof of completion somewhere? Accordion Closed
No, but it doesn’t hurt to save a copy for your records in case of an erroneous charge.
I received a fee for not completing the course but I no longer go to NAU. What should I do? Accordion Closed
