CAMINOS Preparation

CAMINOS Preparation is a 10-week seminar that is being held in the spring 2025, fall 2025, and fall 2026 semesters on the NAU campus. It builds a community of 15 students and prepares them for internships, undergraduate research experiences, and career competencies. A graduate student peer mentor meets with students regularly for academic or other support.

Lower division undergraduate students interested in or that are declared education and STEM majors, and students who have not had a previous internship or research experience are prioritized for acceptance.

Seminar topics

  1. An introduction to scholarly STEM experiences
  2. How to find scholarly STEM experiences
  3. How to be competitive in applying for and interviewing for scholarly STEM activities and future careers

Students will have support while they apply for their first college internship or undergraduate research. Students who complete the seminar and apply to one scholarly STEM experience will receive a $500 stipend.

The application for spring 2025 has closed. Check back for the fall 2025 application.
