Moab is 324 miles, or 376 km, from the closest international airport, which is in Salt Lake City, Utah. Travel from one of the region\u2019s international airports then requires a connecting flight, shuttle service, or car rental. If you have questions, please email <a href=\"mailto:BioCrust3@nau.edu\">BioCrust3@nau.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Air travel<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Reaching Moab by air first requires flying into one of the region\u2019s major airports. Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) or Denver International Airport (DEN) are the closest. From these airports, Moab can be reached by taking a flight to Colorado\u2019s Grand Junction (GJT) airport, which is 1.5 hours by rental car or shuttle. The conference will provide limited free shuttle service between Grand Junction and Moab, so that conference participants can avoid the cost of a rental car. Please contact us at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:BioCrust3@nau.edu\">BioCrust3@nau.edu<\/a>, if you would like to use the conference shuttle.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Boutique Air\" href=\"https:\/\/www.boutiqueair.com\/\">Boutique Air<\/a> is now offering daily flights between\u00a0SLC or DEN and Moab&#8217;s Canyonlands Field Airport (CNY), which is 18 miles north of Moab. Additionally, <a title=\"Utah Airways\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flyutahair.com\/\">Utah Airways<\/a> provides limited service on Mondays and Fridays between SLC and CNY. Schedule and fares can be found <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amtrak.com\/\">here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Driving<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Moab is located in southeastern Utah along US-191 and can be reached by car from the region\u2019s major cities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>From Salt Lake City, Utah, take I-15 south to I-70 east and head south on US-191. For a scenic route, head south on I-15 and take US-6 southeast to I-70 east and then south on US-191 to Moab. (Drive time: 3.75 hours)<\/li>\n<li>From Denver, Colorado, take I-70 west toward to US-191 south to Moab. For a scenic route, take I-70 west to UT- 128 southwest to Moab. If you are coming from southwestern Colorado, take CO-90 west\/UT-46 west to US-191 north to Moab. (Drive time: 5.5 hours)<\/li>\n<li>From Las Vegas, Nevada, take I-15 north to I-70 east to US-191 south to Moab. There are also a lot of scenic byways that dissect southeastern Utah. (Drive time: 6.5 hours)<\/li>\n<li>From Phoenix, Arizona, take I-17 north to Flagstaff, Arizona. At Flagstaff, take I-40 east to US-191 north to Moab. (Drive time: 7.25 hours)<\/li>\n<li>From Reno, Nevada, take I-80 east to I-15 south. Go through Salt Lake City and take exit 258 to US-6 east\/US-89 south. Follow US-89 south to I-70 east and head south on US-191 to Moab.
