Smaglik<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Project Start|End Date: 2014 | 2017<\/p>\n<p>In this study, NAU led a team of three universities to determine the impact the use of non-invasive vehicles has on adaptive control.\u00a0 The research team developed a home-grown data collection device that was used to collect event-based detection data at multiple sites across the state of Oregon.\u00a0 This collected data and associated products were then modeled and used to provide guidance for the DOT for the deployment of vehicle detection devices regarding items such as zone location, zone purpose (presence, occupancy, or count), device placement, technology, and others.\u00a0 The team also completed a cost-benefit analysis to provide the DOT guidance for the selection of detection technology based upon signal control algorithm and life cycle cost.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sponsor: Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) PI: Edward J.
