PSR Region 9<\/h1>\n

NAU faculty alignment with the Pacific Southwest Region 9 University Transportation Center<\/h2>\n

The faculty within\u00a0the Department of Civil Engineering, Construction Management, and Environmental Engineering who are also associated with AZ<\/strong>Trans<\/em> uphold the high standards of the PSR Region 9 University Transportation Center.<\/p>\n

Teaching<\/h3>\n

The faculty associated with AZ<\/strong>Trans<\/em> and PSR-9<\/a> UTC are committed to providing a high-quality education in transportation engineering. This goal is accomplished through teaching a diverse range of both undergraduate and graduate courses, covering a broad spectrum of transportation subjects.<\/p>\n

Many classes include lab components which provide students with hands-on experience performing transportation data collection and analysis, as well as experience with software packages used in the transportation industry.<\/p>\n

Both undergraduate and graduate courses include semester design projects giving students valuable transportation systems design experience, helping them to become practice-ready transportation engineering professionals upon graduation. Transportation-related courses taught by AZ<\/strong>Trans<\/em> and PSR-9 UTC faculty include: Highway Engineering, Traffic Studies and Signals, GIS Applications For Engineering And Construction, Advanced Traffic Signal Systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Advanced Concepts In Traffic Safety, Pavement Design, and Infrastructure Economics.<\/p>\n

Transfers Magazine<\/h3>\n

\"\"Transfers<\/a> is a biannual magazine from PSR 9 featuring abridged copies of current peer-reviewed research papers on many transportation topics.\u00a0 Written for policymakers and professionals alike, Transfers aims to bring knowledge from research centers like AZ<\/strong>Trans<\/em> and other partners in the PSR network and make it accessible to those capable of bringing about action.<\/p>\n
