Ashurst Hall is located inside the Old Main building on the campus of Northern Arizona University. This historic, century-old recital stage and banquet hall has been a focal point of the NAU and a prominent feature of Flagstaff since it opened in 1918.<\/p>\n
Serving as one of the most important venues for Northern Arizona throughout the twentieth century, Ashurst has and continues to host a wide variety of events that engages both NAU students and faculty as well as the community. In serving NAU, Ashurst Hall frequently hosts a variety of student and faculty recitals, guest speakers, luncheons, receptions and symposiums. Ashurst serves as the primary venue for\u00a0NAU’s School of Music<\/a> recitals as well as for the Horizons Concert Series<\/a>.<\/p>\n Celebrities that have performed in Ashurst Hall include the Van Trapp family singers renowned by The Sound of Music film and actor Andy Devine. One of the most notable events that have taken place was the announcement by Lowell Observatory\u2019s Dr. C. O.
