A certified athletic trainer since 1993, “Dr. H” has enjoyed clinical experiences at the high school and collegiate levels, as well as the rehabilitation setting. With a family background in education, she found a way to combine her passion for athletic training and teaching in 2000, when she began her collegiate teaching career at George Fox University. After five years as the head athletic trainer/assistant professor, she was asked to take the responsibilities as program director of the accredited athletic training program. Since completing her PhD, Dr. H has directed three AT programs and been the clinical education coordinator for one. She embraces her role in the NAU Athletic Training Program on the Phoenix Bioscience Core as Associate Clinical Professor and Coordinator of Clinical Education and looks forward to teaching athletic training students every day.
When not at work (and when Phoenix cools down), Dr. H enjoys hiking, kayaking, camping and many more outdoor activities.
