Through rapid prototyping with 3D printing, they will iteratively<br \/>\ndevelop and test structural components, ensuring the robot&#8217;s resilience and adaptability. Furthermore, the student will gain practical experience in PCB<br \/>\ndesign, crucial for integrating the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) with the artificial muscle actuators, a critical step in developing robust and reliable robotic<br \/>\nsystems for future NASA missions. In the project&#8217;s second phase, the student will focus on developing and implementing AI algorithms for autonomous<br \/>\noperation, directly contributing to NASA&#8217;s goal of enhancing robotic autonomy for extended exploratory missions. We expect the student to work 20h per<br \/>\nweek in this project.<\/p>\n<p>The project will primarily involve updating simple models of the habitability of exoplanets. The following tasks will be expected of the student hired onto<br \/>\nthe project: -Writing computer programs so that our models can be updated with new parameters. -Reading scientific papers. -Presenting updates to the<br \/>\nteam and collaborators. The student hired to work on the project could have a background in any STEM discipline and the student does not need to be<br \/>\nan expert computer programmer. The student will be expected to work roughly 10 hours\/week.
