New to us this semester is <em>Native Northwest: Contemporary<\/em>, a whimsical presentation of contemporary artworks curated from the Macy Collection, by indigenous artists of the Pacific Northwest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The exhibition includes Marie Watt, Rick Bartow, James Lavadour, and Joe Feddersen. Pitt, a former apprentice of NAU alumnus #RCGorman, is a descendent of the Warm Springs, Wasco, and Yakama tribes. Feddersen, who resides in Omak, Washington, is of Okanagan Colville heritage. Bartow was a descendent of both the Wiyot and Yurok tribes local to Northern California. Finally, James Lavadour is a resident of the Umatilla Reservation in northeastern Oregon and a member of the Walla Walla tribe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All of these artists contribute colorful and dynamic artworks to the exhibition.
