Contingent upon administrative approval, NAU affiliates may also obtain a Monsoon account.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in using HPC resources in the classroom, please <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/arc\/request-classroom-access\/\">submit a classroom request form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Before proceeding with the account creation process, <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/arc\/overview\/policies\/\">read the policies for using Monsoon<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>Account Creation Process<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Our account creation process consists of a couple of steps, which are normally pretty painless!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Firstly, you&#8217;ll want to <a href=\"https:\/\/servicenow.nau.edu\/sp?id=sc_cat_item&amp;sys_id=d1c4ffb42bb1221059f5fc05e391bf61\">request an HPC account<\/a>. The request form is builtin to NAU&#8217;s Service-Now portal and progress can be checked via this portal. While filling out the form you must specify a faculty sponsor; this sponsor will need to approve this request.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Faculty are not required to specify a sponsor<\/li>\n<li>NAU affiliates need a <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/its\/affiliates\/sponsored-affiliate-categories\/\">type of affiliate account<\/a> that includes an NAU domain account. <em>Collaborative Campus Associate<\/em> is generally suggested.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once the form has been approved, Monsoon staff will create a provisional account, usually within 24 hours.\u00a0 (Affiliate accounts will take additional time to progress through the process due to them requiring CIO approval.) When the account is created, a welcome email will be sent to your primary NAU email address, and you&#8217;ll have two weeks to validate your account through the self-paced workshop process.<\/p>\n<!-- shortcode-button -->\n<div class=\"shortcode-button shortcode-button--center\">\n      <a class=\"main-button\" href=\"https:\/\/servicenow.nau.edu\/sp?id=sc_cat_item&sys_id=d1c4ffb42bb1221059f5fc05e391bf61\">Monsoon Account Request Form<\/a>\n  <\/div>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Self-paced Workshop Process<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>After the provisional account has been created, you will have two weeks to validate your account by completing our introductory orientation training.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li>NAU&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/its\/remote-services\/\">AnyConnect VPN<\/a>: required to access both Monsoon, and workshop media, from off-campus.<\/li>\n<li>Review the introductory workshop media and complete the four exercises.\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/rcdata.nau.edu\/hpcpub\/workshops\/odintro.pdf\">Slides<\/a>: Our primary workshop resource. <span style=\"color: #808080\" data-darkreader-inline-color=\"\"><small><em>[PDF; required]<\/em><\/small><\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/rcdata.nau.edu\/hpcpub\/workshops\/odintro_teams-260212.mp4\">Workshop recording<\/a>: A recording of recent &#8220;live&#8221; workshop. <span style=\"color: #808080\" data-darkreader-inline-color=\"\"><small><em>[MP4; supplementary]<\/em><\/small><\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/rcdata.nau.edu\/hpcpub\/workshops\/ood_intro.mp4\">OnDemand web-portal walk-through video<\/a>: A walk-through of the features of the OnDemand portal. <span style=\"color: #808080\" data-darkreader-inline-color=\"\"><small><em>[MP4; supplementary]<\/em><\/small><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Familiarize yourself with our interactive support options and their schedules:\n<ul>\n<li>weekly Teams-based <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/arc\/hours\/\">office hours<\/a><\/li>\n<li>monthly in-person\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/arc\/hours\/\">&#8220;coffee hours&#8221;<\/a><\/li>\n<li>semi-monthly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/arc\/workshops\/\">topical workshops<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Validate your account so that it doesn&#8217;t expire, using the output generated by the workshop exercises. This includes losing student, employee, or affiliate status.
