\n \n These winged namesakes serve as a fitting tribute to a man whose life was spent seeking to connect with nature <\/span>\n <\/span>\n <\/span>\n <\/span>\n <\/span>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/p>\nRichard Steven \u201cSteve\u201d Fullington, 1968-2007, had a lifelong appreciation for nature and wildlife. From an early childhood fascination with bugs and insects, to working at the Colorado Division of Wildlife as a young man, to earning an undergraduate degree in biology, Steve always felt a strong bond with the plant and animal world. His love of the great outdoors extended to his spare time as well. He was especially fond of fishing, hiking, scuba diving, bird watching, and caring for his beloved cats, dogs, fish, and chickens. In addition, he wrote many short stories and poems reflecting his love of nature. At his ranch property on the outskirts of Flagstaff, he assisted with the capturing and tagging of pinyon jays for NAU research. The newly marked jays were named the \u201cFullington\u201d flock.<\/p>\n
