Christie Dennis
M.S. Engineering
Northern Arizona University
Wind and hydro grid integration; energy modeling; building performance analysis
Christie graduated with her Master of Science in Engineering under Tom Acker. She worked on two NREL funded projects researching the correlation between wind and hydro resources in the west to address system balance impacts of wind power. Additionally, Christie worked on a project with the Western Electricity coordinating Council to validate hydrogeneration modeling method for use in long-term transmission planning. According to Christie, ” ISES provided a supportive working environment, and facilitated work on industry-viable energy projects suitable for resume inclusion.” She is currently working on developing a building performance analysis business, that emphasizes on energy modeling utilizing NREL EnergyPlus model. The goal is to assist designers and developers in constructing energy efficient, low-impact homes and buildings.
Masters project title: “Hydrogeneration Representation in Production Cost Modeling of Long-Term Transmission Studies.”
